Women's cricket: what to know

T20I status for every member

The ICC gave T20 International status to the women's teams of all its members on 1 July 2018, six months before the men's teams (ICC, April 2018). Women's T20 matches between any two member nations count as T20Is, which is why so many nations appear in the team table above.

Batters, not batsmen

Since September 2021 the Laws of Cricket use the gender-neutral words "batter" and "batters" (MCC, 22 September 2021). FairPlay uses the same words on every page.

How FairPlay names women's teams

The match data marks women's teams with a "W", such as "India W". FairPlay Pink shows them as "India Women"; each team name links to that team's page with its fixtures, results and form.

Not pink-ball cricket

FairPlay Pink is about women's cricket. Day-night Tests played with a pink ball are Test cricket, which FairPlay covers on FairPlay Red. Finals in every format, men's and women's, are on FairPlay Gold.
